Something a little different for me…. well, its been a while since I’ve found inspiration in B&W..

Crystal attended my workshop this last year in Canberra, and it was a pleasure to get to know her. In celebration of a mothers bond with her children……..

I photographed this sweet girl when she was around 2 years old, and it was an absolute delight to photograph her again with her companion, Lilly.
We set out to find some Canberra wildflowers and that we did. xoxox.

This little bumble bee had me running all over – and it was one of those sessions where I was exhausted by the end. She proved to be such a little delight – there is something about this sweet princess in her bee swim suit. xoxox. Another recent session in Bali Indonesia.

Indonesia – for the first time…

Friendly, vibrant, exotic, but most of all, a dream come true. When Cicilia contacted me and asked me to pop over to Indonesia, I thought I must have been dreaming.
Together we dreamed up a shoot that took us far into the country in search of rice fields, and back again. A special thanks to Alex for your super assistance. I would have fallen in that rice paddy for sure!

I am far behind, however I couldn’t resist this one pic. A sneek peak – thank you so much Cicilia, I can’t wait to get all the galleries out to your family.
This year has been an amazing year : I hope to find time to get more out up on the blog (I must I must).

I wanted to share this with you because this photograph has been something that has inspired me for a whole year worth..and I keep coming back to it. I guess because its not something that I normally would take. Or see. Or even feel. Infact, Im sure all the wedding photographers out there are saying “whatever”. But…aside from the fact that this girl is stunning.. (and I hope your mum shows you this because you are!), there is something else in it. As a photographer, it was nice to stumble across this frame purely because it reminds me to never get stuck on the “same old”. To push myself creatively and be inspired…always.

I don’t know if you have been following along however, lately I have teamed up with one of my favourite people on the planet (apologies to all the other people on the planet!), Cee Davey to bring you TinkerandArt. Cee is my cousin, however she is more than that. She is my life blood, my sister, and one of those people who even when we don’t speak she is never far from my heart. The TinkerandArt venture has been an eye opener to us both – I already knew she was amazingly creative and talented. However I guess I didnt realize how passionate she is and I thrive off passion. However it is her patience that makes me love her even more. She has discovered that I am single minded and driven (and somewhat busy), and yet she has found time to inspire me beyond belief.

Cee is one of those naturally creative people. I remember when we were growing up, she would out-do all of us with her amazing illustrations and colour-ins even at the age of 5. Her creative play would have us building worlds in our backyards that had such depth and imagination. Her creative mind just flowed from her every move and I really believed and still believe Cee to be one of the most creative people that I know. You see, Cee studied sculpture and silver smithing, amongst other things, and really it came as no shock to any of us that she became the artist that she is. (Although I know that it has come as quite a shock to my family that I have become well..anything at all. However Cee always believed in me – and I can not thank her enough). I could really go on and on.

Anyway, recently she sent me a challenge to think outside my photography box. She sent me some creative tasks…many of which I have been working through slowly. Its amazing seeing the world through the eyes of another artist, and exploring this amazing thing called photography with new eyes and inspirations. Recently at a workshop in Texas I was given the opportunity to quietly explore this…and here are the results. The attendees unknowingly took part in my little experiment however I hope to post more of my creative ventures soon – as really this is just the start.
