Location: NSW

From a recent session in Jindabyne, Australia.  Two years in the making – and I am so thankful….. so so thankful that they picked me as their family photographer.

Thank you Kate.

Together we dreamed up this wonderful winter wonderland shoot and it was just so fun. Of course, being winter we didn’t have long to shoot even though it was September here which really means it was Spring. Christmas has extra special meaning to this family, and I will definitely be sure to share some more from this session as the holidays draw near.

ART

As a photographer I am not often questioning if I do or do not create art.  However, I know that as a creative I do question my own creativity and how the life in which I lead influences that. So often, my creative boundaries are pushed by those around me and that is not only in the form of photography. For example, when I look at pottery, I am caught up in the use of form to create seamless shapes that not only embrace simplicity but also on most occasions have a function.  Or a gardener who might grow his own extraordinarily meaningful food to not only cleans the soul but also inspire inner health. That is truly inspiring.  And in my mind, an artform.

Art truly is all around us, every day, in so many ways and I guess, a part of me wishes to embrace that side …just sometimes.

Its part of the reason why I am super excited to be bringing into the JinkyArt fold, the wonderfully talented and inspiring  silversmith Celia Davey  who actually inspired the above photograph of my daughter, Talia.  Cee is joining the team next week as a creative peer, and I have to say, her influence has already settled in on me.  I hope to explore my own work through the eyes of others more often, and I promise when I do, Ill share it, even if its not my norm.

So many exciting things around the corner.

And, Cee, welcome!
